KOKRAJHAR CYCLING PEACE MISSION REACHES ISLAMPUR IN THEIR WAY TO KASHMIR

Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 10th September, 2016: A 30 member team of Gandhi Peace Foundation from Kokrajhar, Assam came to Islampur in their mission to reach Kashmir by cycling. They reached Islampur yesterday evening. The team was greeted by Islampur Nagorik Suraksha Manch’s representative and Chairman of Islampur Municipality as well as the MP of Islampur Mr. Kanhaiyalal Agarwal. Along with him Mr. Pasarul Alam, teacher of Islampur High School and the members of the Islampur Subdivision Sports Association were also present. The members of team were felicitated by Islampur Nagorik Suraksha Manch.
The function was held at Islampur Bus Terminus area followed by a seminar. The main topic of discussion was to make the people aware about the mission of the cycle rally by Gandhi Peace Foundation of Kokrajhar, Assam. Mr. Chandan Pal of the team informed TNI that they have a target of reaching Kashmir in 50 days. The journey started from Kokrajhar on 3rd September. He also expressed his gratitude to all the Islampur residents for such a great felicitation in their mission.
