2 ELEPHANTS DIE OF ELECTROCUTION AT BAGDOGRA

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 10th September, 2016: 2 elephant carcasses was recovered from Kiran Chandra Tea Estate near Bagdogra today. At first those were spotted by the tea garden workers, who were about to start their plucking for the day. Immediately the Garden officials informed the Forest department. According to the forest ranger Mr. P. T. Bhutia probably the incident has occurred yesterday night due to electrocution. Initial investigations said that the carcass of the elephants belongs to an elephant calf and another of a full grown female elephant. The tea workers said that may be the elephant calf was electrocution first and then the mother elephant came under the contact of the live wire.
