FISH MINNOWS DISTRIBUTED AT FALAKATA FOR FISHERIES EXTENSION

Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 30th August, 2016: In Falakata already completed pond excavation under 100-day work by West Bengal Government’s “Jal Dhoro, Jal Bhoro” has been completed. Today the project got a boost when 3 beneficiaries Falakata Block received 3000 fish pawns (1000 each) from the Fisheries Extension Department of Falakata Block. The fish minnows consisted of fishes like Rohu, Katla, Mrigala, Bata etc. In this minnow distribution program, the main guests present were the Sabhapati of Falakata Panchayat Samiti Smt. Sandhya Biswas, Municipal chairman Mr. Suresh Lala, Chairman of Alipurduar Zilla Parishad’s Woman and Child Department chairman Smt. Srabani Sinha, Falakata Block Fisheries Extension Officer Mr. Debojyoti Bhattacharya and other officials. Mr. Bhattacharya told TNI in this regard “Today 3000 fish minnows were distributed, in the days to come more such minnows will be distributed for fisheries extension program”. The cost of the fish minnows is almost Rs. 5 per fish. He also said that more Governmental program related to Fisheries extension are in the pipeline.
