WOMAN’S BID TO SAVE THE LIFE OF RAIL ACCIDENT VICTIM AT ALIPURDUAR

TNI News Service (TNS)

Webdesk, TNI Alipurduar 24th August, 2016: Many a time we witness the ignorance of mass towards accident victims in the roadside through media or in front. This was today misled by a lady with human heart named Monika Biswas from Alipurduar. Incidentally, she is a member of voluntary societies like ‘Nari Nigroho Birodhi Manch’ and ‘Alipurduar Social Welfare Society. She ran to save a 12th Standard student who fell in the tracks while boarding the train. The boy was bleeding profusely but the RPF and the co-passengers were reluctant to pick him up for treatment. She was also stopped many times but she carried out the rescue on her own. She called up an NGO and also took the boy to the nearby Railway Hospital taking a help of the auto driver. Later, when the NGO team arrived then the situation was under control. The boy was transferred to the Alipurduar District Hospital. Hospital sources said that the affected leg may have to be amputated. However, later the eyewitnesses praised the role of Smt. Monika Biswas and her zeal to treat the victim despite she was tried to stop by others showing reasons of unnecessary problems.
