NORTH BENGAL BIKE THEFT RACKET UNEARTHED AT FALAKATA

Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 21st August, 2016: A person named Shakti Das (33) was caught by Falakata Police from his house at Khauchandpara in charges of bike theft. Police have recovered 2 bikes from his house. He has been granted 10 days police custody by Alipurduar court. Police after interrogating had recovered 7 more bikes from his house. All of the bikes bear number plates from Siliguri and Malda. From the accused, it is further known that the bikes were sold in the local market by making fake number plate and documents. Some of the bikes were even sold to Bangladesh. All the bikes were kept by the accused covered with hay, jute, woods, plastic etc. The IC of Falakata Police Station Mr. Binod Gazmer told TNI that police want to interrogate the accused further and will appeal for more days of police custody to get more information about the racket.
