ISLAMPUR SUBDIVISION CELEBRATED INDEPENDENCE DAY

Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 16th August, 2016: Yesterday along with the whole of the country Islampur Subdivision also celebrated the 70th Independence Day. In the SDO Office campus, there was Guard of honor given by the security forces along with that there was the Indian National Flag hoisting. The first woman SDO of Islampur Sub Division Smt. Y. Shering Bhutia did the honors in this regard. The Safe Drive Save Life awareness campaign was also inaugurated on this occasion by the SDICO Smt. Saswati Saha and the SDO.
A tableau regarding this awareness campaign will traverse throughout the subdivision according to the Department of Information and Culture sources in the town. The former Library minister of West Bengal Mr. Abdul Karim Choudhury also hoisted the flag in the Golghar Premises. The Municipal chairman Mr. Kanaiyalal Agarwal also hoisted the flag in the Congress Office of Islampur located in the Islampur Bus terminus. Apart from this, the Independence celebration reports came from the entire Sub Division of Islampur which includes Local clubs, Educational Institutions etc. No untoward incidents were reported in Islampur.
