AGITATION TO START AGAINST SECRET TUITIONS GIVEN BY GOVERNMENT TEACHERS

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 16th August, 2016: A huge agitation is being planned against the private tuition given secretly by the teachers of Government schools and Colleges. The decision has been taken in a meeting of West Bengal Private Tutor’s Association held at Room No 1 of Kanchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri. Further the members have decided to hold continuous agitation against the working teachers for their secret private tuition services to the students. The association also have said that a law has been passed by the parliament in the year 2013 that clearly states that “Any person who is a Vice -Chancellor or member of any government body, Professor, Reader (Associate Professor), Lecturer (Assistant Professor) or any other teacher or employee, by whatever designation called, of any University and any person whose services have been availed of by a University or any other public authority in connection with holding or conducting examination”. The Assistant Teachers of Government Schools and Government aided schools also come under the purview of the act. However, according to the members of the association those teachers don’t pay hid to such law and are continuously violating the law. The members also said that firstly, they would appeal to the District School Inspector, School Managing Committee. If no action are taken by the administration then the association would stage dharna, agitation etc. against the concerned teachers in front of their houses and their place of tuition.
