GAIRKATA FUMING OVER LONG DELAY IN BUILDING ELECTRICITY SUB STATION

Webdesk, TNI Gairkata, 3rd August, 2016: In the year 2014 the then MIC Electricity Mr. Manish Gupta have declared to built a substation at Gairkanta. However, till date no stones have been turned in that respect. There is growing dissatisfaction in this connection at Gairkanta. The people of this region have been suffering from the jeopardized electricity supply condition at Gairkata. There are various Tea manufacturing factories located in this region. Most of the factories are also having the power shortage problem for such infrequent power distribution. Locals have also staged some road blockades in demand of the substation that has resulted in the declaration of the then MIC Electricity. However, till date, not even the land mapping hasn’t started yet. The secretary of Gairkata Byabshayi Samiti Mr. Ranjan Datta said that his organization is demanding any explanation for such an unnecessary delay. Even TMC leader Mr. Gopal Chakraborty expressed anguish over the delay. He also said that probably the delay is occurring due to the process delayed done by Electricity Office of Dhupguri. On the other hand, the station manager avoided any questions regarding the matter and told the press to contact the Divisional Manager of the Electricity Department.
