Webdesk, TNI Madarihat, 28th July, 2016: The irrigation minister Mr. Rajib Mukherjee today did a survey of the flood-ridden areas of Banarhat and Birpara under Dooars. Along with him the MIC tourism Mr. Gautam Deb, Tribal Development Minister Mr. James Kujur, Tea Directorate Chairman Mr. Saurav Chakraborty, MLA of Dhupguri Smt. Mitali Roy, SDO Smt. Sima Haldar, BDO of Dhupguri Block Mr. Subhankar Roy and other personnel were present. The survey took place on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Later the team went to Dhupguri where they stayed in the irrigation bungalow for some time and went to Alipurduar. This has not been taken gladly by the flood victims of Kalapani, Bandapani, Joybirpara etc. This is because the ministerial team didn’t visit the places as scheduled. The MLA of Madarihat Mr. Manoj Tigga expressed unhappiness over the situation saying that the residents are disappointed by the act.
