By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri) | TNI Editing Siliguri
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 24th July, 2016: Most of the residents of Siliguri feels that the main problem of Siliguri submerging is due to the clogged and blocked drainage system. It is to be noted that for the last few months there were several protests by both political and nonpolitical organizations for implementing the proper drainage system. The entire city today witnessed several road blockades due to the protest of the affected residents. There were road blockades organized by the residents of Champasari main road, Aambari, Eastern Bypass, Shaktigarh etc. Even the MIC Tourism Minister Mr. Gautam Deb’s convoy was also trapped in a road blockade. Later after the assurance of the minister to talk led the people to withdraw the road block.
