RED ALERT FOR TORSA AND YELLOW ALERT FOR TEESTA & JALDHAKA DECLARED

Webdesk, TNI Hasimara 24th July, 2016: Hasimara’s NonReserved areas adjacent to Torsa River are under fear of flood due to the continuous 3-day rains in this area. The Alipurduar Administration have declared Red alert in this area. On the other hand, the administration has declared Yellow alert in the reserved areas of Hasimara. Sources said that there is a high possibility that Raidak River water level will rise in the next 2-3 days if the rains don’t stop. On the other hand, Administration has also declared Yellow alert for the adjoining areas of Teesta and Jaldhaka rivers in Jalpaiguri district. However, there is a ray of relief for the administration because yesterday Dr. Sourav Chakraborty, MLA of Alipurduar have said that the MIC Irrigation Mr. Rajib Bandyopadhyay is going to arrive this week to take stock of the flood situation of the district.
