Webdesk, TNI Nagrakata, 24th July, 2016: Rain has created havoc at Nagrakata too. Areas like Khairbari, Sulkapara, Lukshan, Angrabhasha etc are in submerged condition. In Nagrakata itself according to the reports, at least 15 culverts are broken due to the heavy rush of water. A bridge connecting Jhartundu village and Nagrakata is washed away by the heavy force of water. Many rescue camps have been set up in Nagrakata. The administration is making war footing effort to bring in relief to the affected villagers. The DM of Jalpaiguri Smt. Mukta Arya made a visit at Nagrakata’s flood affected areas. Till now since the rains have stopped, the water has started receding. However, it is still feared that if at night the rain situation is aggravated at Bhutan, there would be more worries for the people residing here.
