Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 24th July, 2016: Like all other towns of North Bengal Falakata is also experiencing nightmares due to the continuous rains in the hills and the plains. Water has submerged all the roads of Falakata making it difficult for the dwellers to come out even for the daily works. The Netaji Road of Falakata is completely under water resulting in seepage of water in the roadside shops and establishments. Almost 80% of the stocks have been dampened by the dirty water. The business community is in a hapless condition because they have stocked all their items for the Durga Puja Sales, which are damaged by this rain water. Questions are raised against the granting of permission to raise concrete pillars for high buildings by encroaching rivers of this area. However, administration preferred to keep mum about the issue. People fear that if such conditions prevail then Falakata will face more trouble due to this flood like situation.
