CM RETURNS NORTH BENGAL WITH OPEN HANDS IN HER FIRST VISIT AFTER ELECTION

Webdesk, TNI Alipurduar 27th June, 2016: In the first visit by the CM Smt. Mamta Banerjee at North Bengal after becoming the CM for second consecutive time. She came today around 2:30pm at Bagdogra Airport by spent very little time in Siliguri and also didn’t talk to the reporters waiting for her. Today in an evening public meeting organized at the parade ground of Alipurduar on the occasion of the 2nd Anniversary of the formation of Alipurduar District, the Chief Minister declared a bunch of projects as well as also inaugurated many others. Among the declared projects there are a Rs. 12 crore Rabindra Bhawan at Alipurduar, beautification of Alipurduar town costing around Rs. 3 crores, Drinking water supply of Alipurduar Hospital, Super speciality hospital of Malbazar and Jalpaiguri, Water supply of Jaigaon costing Rs. 70 crore, a butterfly park at Parade ground of Alipurduar, Ultra modern ambulance facility for the tea belt of Dooars etc. She also inaugurated the newly built Krishi Bazar, ITI, Karmatirtha, and various other newly constructed roads. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of a special gate of Jaigaon, a polytechnic college building at Damanpur, water supply projects, electricity substation, school hostel and other projects. One of the vital things she declared is the addition of two new districts in the state i.e. Sundarbans and Basirhat in addition to the earlier declared Asansol, Jhargram and Kalimpong. In the stage apart from the Chief Minister, there were MIC tourism Mr. Gautam Deb, MIC NBDD Mr. Rabindranath Ghosh, Minister of Tribal Affairs Mr. James Kujur, Minister Mr. Arup Biswas, SJDA Chairman Dr. Saurav Chakraborty etc.
