7 KGS OF HASHISH (CHARAS) RECOVERED BY SILIGURI POLICE TODAY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 23rd June, 2016: Today 7 kgs of Hashish (Charas) was recovered by Siliguri Metropolitan Police from Salbari area near Siliguri. The estimated cost of the recovered Hashish is around Rs. 7 Lakhs. This is being informed by the Siliguri Police Commissioner Smt. C. S. Lepcha. The raid has been carried out based on a tip-off to the police that some people are coming to Siliguri with the intention of illegal trafficking if Hashish. The police stayed hidden in Salbari. When the men arrived and were about to board a car, the police pounced upon them and nabbed them. Primary reports say that all of the nabbed are from Manipur. The people nabbed were Shanta Rai, Basant Rai Chewang, Jiban Gautam and Ramkumar Karkidule. They were to traffic the drugs to Nepal through Siliguri. Police said that the nabbed people will be further questioned to find out the other people associated with them.
