MEKHLIGANJ, DOMOHONI COME UNDER WATER DUE TO WATER RELEASE OF TEESTA

Webdesk, TNI Mekhliganj 14th June, 2016: Due to the heavy rains for the last two days, Gajaldoba Teesta Barrage lock gates were opened for releasing waters. Subsequently, many areas of Jalpaiguri District went under water affecting thousands of families. A yellow alert has already being issued for scheduled and non-scheduled areas of the district from the bordering Mekhliganj to Domohoni. Larger areas of Domohoni are under water affecting normal life here.
