NEW POLICE COMMISSIONER TAKES CHARGE IN SILIGURI TODAY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 10th June, 2016: Today was the last day of the Commissioner of Police Mr. Manoj Verma in Siliguri Police Commissionerate. Mr. Verma today handed over the charge to Smt. Chelling Simick Lepcha as the new Police Commissioner of Police. In one hand it was sadness due to the farewell of Mr. Manoj Verma and on the other hand, it was the welcome of the newly appointed Police Commissioner of Police today by the Siliguri police personnel. The police personnel performed a guard of honor to welcome the new Police Commissioner. Later she was also welcomed by flowers by the policemen. While talking to the press Smt. Lepcha said she will take strategies by consulting with the colleagues and police officers. Smt. Lepcha was earlier appointed as a DSP in Siliguri many years ago. Later the former CP of SMP Mr. Manoj Verma was given farewell by the colleagues at the Commissionerate.
