YOUTH GETS LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDER AT JALPAIGURI COURT

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri 4th June, 2016: A youth has been sentenced to life imprisonment on account of murdering his neighbor. The punishment was given out by the Jalpaiguri court on Saturday. Reportedly, Ramchandra Razak of Subhash Nagar (Arvind Gram Panchayat, Jalpaiguri) murdered Ashok Mondal on 6th June 2011 over a land feud. Later, the accused surrendered himself at the Jalpaiguri Police Station with the murder weapon. 22 witnesses gave testimony on this 5-year long case. The court has sentenced the accused to a life imprisonment besides a fine of Rs. 1000 or an additional six months in confinement in case of failure to meet the fine.
