The brother-sister duo went to the river for taking a summer bath. While taking a bath the little girl slipped in the deep undercurrent of the erstwhile calm river. She shouted for help. The boy immediately jumped into the current and saved her sister but could not save himself. His body was dragged inside the current. People from the Krishnanagar colony gathered to the place. A search was carried out but the boy was not found. However, after 3 hours the dead body of the boy was found a little distant away from the spot. Bhaktinagar police have taken away the body for post-mortem.
