SILIGURI JOURNALIST CLUB CONDEMNS ATTACK ON JOURNALISTS

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 14^th May, 2016: In view of the attacks against the News personnel in West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand today a black day was observed throughout the state. Both in Siliguri, Kolkata and elsewhere in the state Journalist protested in the form of rallies, black batches, and street meetings. Yesterday at Malda Medical College & Hospital journalists and photographers were severely beaten by the junior doctors. Their equipment was also taken away by the agitators. Siliguri Journalist Club also condemned the attacks on the Journalist. The General Secretary Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty said that “Yesterday at Malda an unforgivable incident has occurred. We condemn the incident. Journalists from not only Siliguri, the all the districts from Darjeeling to Malda and even Sikkim have protested against the attacks and all of them are observing the day as a black day for the media. We also condemn the killings of the senior media personnel in Bihar and Jharkhand.
