Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri 13th May, 2016: A Pea-hen entered Dhupguri town from the forest. The injured pea-hen was found at an area called Magurmari adjacent to Bamoni Bridge. A farmer first saw the bird running away from the stray dogs. The farmer Zahirul rescued the bird and informed the Forest Department and the police. However, the forest department said that they are unable to reach the spot on time. Meanwhile, many people gathered to see the bird. Lastly, when contacted with Jalpaiguri’s Forest Officer Mr. Bidyut Sarkar, he sent a team from Moraghat. They recovered the bird. It is expected that the bird will be let off when primary treatments are done on it.
