WILD ELEPHANTS ATTACK MALBAZAR BLOCK

Webdesk, TNI Malbazar 11th May, 2016: The Elephant rage continues in Jalpaiguri district unabated. The elephants are coming out of the jungles into the localities are returning back to damaging homes, agricultural fields and even killing human beings. In Malbazar subdivision last night, several such incident are reported. The areas where the tuskers attacked are Gajoldoba’s No. 10 colony, Kathambari, Barghoria and Sholghoria. They smashed 5 houses, ate the stocked paddy, broke a school’s wall, ate up the mid-day meal’s rice etc. People are fed up with the frequent elephant attack at Dooars. They are alleging the lack of monitoring by the Forest officials. On the other hand, the forest department said that the proper compensation will be provided to the suffering villagers if applied with proper process.
