SPECIAL MOMENT WITH ‘THE MAGNEATIX CREW’ OF SILIGURI (IGT FAME)
One of the local dance groups from Siliguri “The Magneatix Crew” made a rare achievement especially from this part of West Bengal. They have got themselves selected in the first round of the reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’. The latest season started its journey from 30th April. The Magneatix Crew did an astonishing performance and they got good comments from all the three celebrity judges Karan Johar, Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher. The group has nine members in their group including one child performing in the show viz. Amaan Parwana (captain of the group), Pramit Dewan Rai, Krishna Mondol, Saran Dewan, Abhishek Chetri, Bishu Roy, Biswajit Saha, Papu Rajak and Kubud Rajak. Despite their hard practice sessions, ‘The Magneaetix Crew’ members took time out to speak with TNI about their IGT journey. Here are the excerpts of the interview.
TNI: Why the name “The Magneatix Crew”?
MC: Basically we wanted an unusual name which does not match with any other group. So we kept this name, said the group captain.
TNI: When did you form the group?
MC: Actually we practiced for the last 3 years together but this crew has formally formed this January i.e. 2016.
TNI: How are your friends and family react after the first round selection?
MC: Obviously, India’s Got Talent is quite a big show. Everyone, who are known to us and our friends and family members all are very happy. They are very much excited that we have reached the finals. We started our dance when nobody was around us. However, now all are supporting us.
TNI: What is the inspiration for your group?
MC: Inspiration like our Sir Mr. Jiten Ghimirey, is our guru, we used to learn from him. He is my teacher, ideal and whatever I as a captain of this group have learnt from him.
TNI: What is your strategy to win the IGT this season?
MC: There are no specific strategies. We are into the show right now. We are quite happy with our performance till date, but yes we have in our mind that we have to go ahead in the show. So we have to work more hard.
TNI: What is the feeling after first round selection?
MC: Everything that was going on there was like a dream actually, when we started and when we saw the judges in front of us whom you be used to watching the TV like watching on the screen and watching in the real is quite different. So everything was like a dream when we ended the last step everyone was cheering like once more that was the best feelings.
TNI: How do you feel to be famous suddenly?
MC: It’s quite a rare feeling. People who did not know you who call upon and said you did very well and when we go outside people say these are the guys who went to IGT. So it’s exciting and feels proud.
TNI: Are all members the residents of Siliguri?
MC: Yes we all are the local guys.
TNI: Do you have your own club?
MC: Yes this is our academy Magneatix Club. I teach here and we learn here…everything.
TNI: When you will go back to Mumbai?
MC: We are going after 15th of this month and our next telecast will be in June.
