TIN BIGHA CORRIDOR REMAINED OPEN DURING ELECTIONS AT COOCHBEHAR

Webdesk, TNI Mekhliganj 5th May, 2016: The Tin Bigha Corridor was kept open the whole day today during the election. The dwellers of Bangladeshi villages like Dahagram, Angrapota etc. crossed the border throughout the day. The Bangladeshis were not aware of the election-related violence in areas like Natabari, Shitalkuchi etc. The Tinbigha corridor is now given on a lease by India for the help of villages of Bangladesh like Dahagram, Angrapota, Paatgram etc. No Indian Tourist inflow was seen here today. The BSF and State police were in charge of the Tin Bigha Corridor. Police sources said that today only the Bangladeshis used the corridor today.
