GATE MEETING HELD AT CHAMURCHI TEA ESTATE

Webdesk, TNI Banarhat 30^th April, 2016: A gate meeting was organized in demand of equal payment to the workers of Chamurchi Tea Garden in comparison to the other Tea gardens. The workers demanded to amend their payment structure in according to the new payment agreement. In the gate meeting, a greater agitation was also promised. It is to be noted that other tea gardens have a payment structure of Rs. 132.50 but for the workers of Chamurchi TE is still constant at Rs. 95. The Garden owners are mum in this regard. Along with it, the agitated workers also demanded to normalize water supply to the labour lines. The garden owners, however, have said that the garden is a sick Tea Garden. Further the manager of Chamurchi Tea Estate has assured to sit with the workers in this issue.
