FALAKATA TOWN CLUB GROUND SOLD AT RS. 1800

Webdesk, TNI Falakata 9^th April, 2016: The Falakata Town Club Ground has been sold for only Rs 1800. Surprised! Of course, it is something to be surprised at. Though unbelievable, yet it is the truth. With the advent of night, the Falakata Town Club ground becomes a meeting spot for the local anti-social elements. As the evening progresses, so does the arrival of youngsters in groups. These groups have names such as Rock star, Rock star 1, Rock star 2, Rock star Return, Bikers, Rider, 7 Star, etc. Alcohol and gambling is rampant among these so called gangs. The boys that flock here are aged 18 to 21 years. A few of them are a little older. Their source of income comprises of lying to their parents to extricate money. Upon losing a bet in a gamble they sell off the plot where they hang out. Under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, marijuana, dendrite, tablets, etc. these thugs consider not just the ground they occupy but rather the whole of Falakata as their own property. They sell off these plots at rates as low as twelve hundred or fifteen hundred. Eighteen hundred is the highest amount till date. These stories were reported by some of the gang members themselves. Falakata Town Club secretary Bimal Chandra Lodh Roy said that the Falakata Town Club Ground is not a privately owned piece of property. It belongs to the people of Falakata. He reported that at times the club carries out campaigns to eliminate these illegal gatherings. It disperses only for a few days though. He added that the Falakata police administration has assured them of a permanent solution post election.
