NOSTALGIC ‘RAKHALDA’S CANTEEN’ INAUGURATED AT SILIGURI COLLEGE

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 29^th February, 2016: The most awaited, the most talked about, the most nostalgic, especially from the alumnus point of view ‘Rakhal Da’s Canteen’ was today finally inaugurated in the Siliguri College campus. The canteen is named after Rakhal Da, the name which is known to young and old of Siliguri College. The small two-room canteen of Rakhal da run for years and decades serving the students and teachers of Siliguri College. The current MIC NBDD Mr. Gautam Deb was also one of the alumni of Siliguri College and had experienced the nostalgic moments. Today was its inauguration day. Among invitees were Siliguri College Managing Committee Chairman Mr. Pratul Chakraborty, the Principal in Charge Prof. Ujjal Kumar Sarkar, TMC Leader Jayanta Kar and other. The teachers, students and many alumni of the college were also present to witness the special moment. In this occasion, the minister recollected his days as a student in the college along with his presence in the Canteen. The minister and dignitaries were served with special ‘Googhni’ of Rakhal Da’s canteen, for which it’s still remembered by the students, teachers, ex-teachers as well as the alumnus of the college.
