LAND MAFIA’S TARGET KASHIABAARI HAAT AT FALAKATA

Webdesk, TNI Falakata 27^th April, 2016: The oldest haat area of Falakata block is said to be the target of land mafias. The Haat known as Kashiabaari Haat located at Purba Deogaon area under Deogaon Panchayat. In the last bidding of haat, Abdul Aziz of Falakata got the bid. According to Md. Aziz after that the Haat was running smoothly. However, after some time the business of the haat became dull for some unknown reason. Some local residents complained that the area is gradually grabbed by some people. In the middle of the haat houses have come up along with cow sheds. Local residents are very much pained at the circumstances. They want that administration should recover the land and start some Health centers or Primary schools for the children. Sources said that 1 km away from this haat another haat has been set which is now attracting more buyers and sellers. Interestingly, the Gram Panchayat pradhan Mr. Sushil Das said that he didn’t have any information regarding the developments. Members of Zilla Parishad Mr. Akhil Sarkar also expressed unawareness about the incident. On the other hand Smt. Sandhya Biswas, the president of the panchayat Samiti said that measures will be taken against the land grabbing if at all happening.
