BANARHAT’S TARUN SANGHA ORGANIZES MARATHON

Webdesk, TNI Banarhat, 19th March, 2016: On the occasion of the Annual Function organized by Banarhat Tarun Sangha today a Marathon Race competition was organized in the morning. A total of 140 competitors in the men’s category and a total of 50 competitors in women’s participated in the marathon. Men’s race in the marathon started about 12 kms away from Banarhat’s Telipara more and the women’s race started from Totapara Tea Garden, which is 4.5 kms away from the end point. The winners i.e. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position in Men’s category were secured by Hasibul Haque, Dulu Sarkar and Abu Sama Rahman. On the other hand, in the women’s category the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions were secured by Juthika Sarkar, Bina Debnath and Sunita Oraon. The club secretary Mr. Dipankar Ghosh said that the winners will receive trophies along with cash prizes. Apart from this, the first 15 participants will also be honored. He also said that a special sports meet was also organized for the physically disabled sports people of the area in the evening.
