TNI News Service (TNS)

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 10th March, 2016: Kanchenjungha Stadium Football ground is becoming smaller. However, this may not have any problem to organize football matches even if it is the case of Derby match between archrivals i.e. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. Now it is almost certain that the most waited derby match between the Kolkata teams is going to take place in Siliguri on 2nd April 2016. This has been declared by the SMKP chairman Mr. Arup Ratan Ghosh. On the recommendation of both the teams along with the IFA expert team, the fencing of the gallery is being shifted towards the main ground. Thus the total area of the ground has now reduced from the previous size. The Big teams have recommended that the Club’s Supporter gallery should be constructed opposite to each other. With all the preparations going on now, SMKP is waiting for the AIFF’s final written letter containing the date and permission of the derby match.
