ACCIDENT NEAR CHANDMONI MELA GROUND, SEVERAL INJURED

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 9^th March, 2016: A dreaded accident happened between City Centre and Darjeeling More at around 11 pm when a loaded truck hit some vehicles coming from the opposite side. It was Shivratri Mela at Chandmoni Shiv Mandir and there was a huge number of people returning to their homes. As reported from local sources the truck hit 2 packed autos and a car. All the vehicles fell onto the slope of the road. Several people were injured and they were whisked to the nearby hospitals and nursing homes. It’s a big question that when huge traffic control was already set up on account of the Mela how did the speeding vehicle go unnoticed to the traffic personnel.
