JALPAIGURI GETS MORE PARAMILITARY FORCE THAN LAST ELECTION

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 6th March, 2016: In this election time Jalpaiguri District is going to get more than 4 central force jawans for each polling booth. The entire Jalpaiguri district has got 1897 polling booths throughout. A total number of 13965 paramilitary personnel have being brought here. Among them 8400 will be deployed in the polling booths directly on the Election Day. However, from the district, the exact number of sensitive polling booths is yet to be announced. The DM of Jalpaiguri said in a press conference that a demand of 105 company paramilitary forces has been made. However, 80 of the personnel from each company of forces will be deputed directly for polling booths. Further, in the press conference it is declared that the total male voters in the district is 860421, female voters are 818955. From the election commission office of the district it is clarified that the plan of paramilitary force deployment is done on the basis of the last election’s security picture.
