U. DINAJPUR DM CALLS FOR THE BEGINNING OF ADMINISTRATIVE ELECTION PROCESS

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 4th March, 2016: Extreme activities has already started in the administrative quarters of the state after the declaration of the assembly elections of 2016. U. Dinajpur is of no exception. The election code of conduct has already been started. In Uttar Dinajpur at 17th April is the date of election for 9 assembly seats. Today the DM of U. Dinajpur Mr. Randhir Kumar called a press conference regarding this. He said the notification for putting up nomination of candidates will be declared on 22nd March. The last date of nomination filing is 29th and the last date of withdrawal is 1st April. The total voters in the district are 1797510. Among them 984786 are male, 896797 are female and 50 are from the third gender. The district magistrate also informed that the numbers of voters from 18-19 years category are 73124. A total number of 12314 election workers will be appointed for the election duties from various sectors. Surendranath College, Raiganj College from Raiganj and Islampur College will be the venues for training these election duty workers. In the subdivisions of Raiganj and Islampur the institutes i.e. Raiganj Polytechnic and Islampur College is selected for DC/RC centre for the elections. From these centres the EVM machines receipt and distributions will be done along with the vote counting. The District Magistrate also informed the voters to cast their votes without any fear. 5 Company of Central forces has already reached the district. It is expected that another batch of 7 company central forces will reach here. An all party meeting has also been called on 7th March. In the meeting all the aspects of free and fair election process will be discussed.
