LEOPARD RESCUED FROM DHUPGURI TOWN’S STATIONPARA

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 02nd March, 2016: A full sized female leopard was spotted at Stationpara area of Dhupguri today morning. This had created a furor among the residents. People started gathering as the day progressed. The news also reached the Police Station and the Forest Department. SSB was also called in to take control of the situation by crowd controlling. Later the tranquilizer snipers from Jalpaiguri shot the tranquilizer at the Leopard, who later became senseless. Tension mounted in the faces of the forest keepers when they saw the big leopard fell on the ground from the tree top. People thought that it might be dead, but after inspection it was found that the animal was just senseless. It was carried out to Vet, who let it go after some fast aid. The DFO, N. Uma Rani said that the leopard was rescued safely.
