4TH HIMALAYAN DRIVE CAR RALLY STARTED AT CITY CENTRE, SILIGURI TODAY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 27^th February, 2016: The ceremonial flag off for 4th Himalayan Drive Car Rally happened today at City Cente at 4 PM.  Organizers claimed this rally to be India’s only International T.S.D. (Time-Speed-Distance) Cross-Country Rally. This year ‘Biswa Bangla’ has joined as a presenting sponsor in association with West Bengal Tourism under the brand name of ‘Experience Bengal’ and North Bengal Development Department. The actual route map will be handed over to the participant just before the start their journey. However, overall, the rally route is touching Siliguri-Paro-Murti-Darjeeling and again back to Siliguri. The entire rally is expected to cover 1500 Kms. Today in the press conference at Uttorayan, Mr. Ajit Ranjan Bardhan, IAS, Principal Secretary Tourism, Govt. of WB, Mr. Manoj Kumer Verma, IPS, Commissioner, Siliguri Metropolitan Police was present along with Mr. Tamal Ghosal of Just Sportz and Mr. Bhashkar Roy of Techno India Group. Altogether 75 cars are participating combining the three legs of the rally. The winning prize for the event is Re. 1 lakh. The rally will officially finish at Siliguri Institute of Technology Campus on 03rd March.
