DAY & NIGHT SUBJUNIOR CRICKET TOURNAMENT INAUGURATED IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 31st January, 2016: A Gala opening of Prakash Chandra Saha memorial Day & Night Sub Junior Knockout Cricket Tournament took place at Dadabhai Sporting Ground today in the wee hours of Sunday. The tournament also has the other prizes i.e. Ajit Kumar Biswas and Mira Biswas Champions Trophy, Dhirendra Kumar Banerjee Runners Trophy, Dipa Guha Fair play trophy. The chief guest on the occasion was The SMC Mayor Mr. Ashok Bhattacharya. Apart from this the MIC – Sports Mr. Shankar Ghosh was also present along with other distinguished guests. The chief guest and other dignitaries greeted the players of both the teams of the 1st match i.e. Udayan Cricket Academy (Alipurduar) and Baghajatin Cricket Coaching Centre (Siliguri) before the start of play. In the match, Baghajatin CCC won the toss and elected to bat and ended their innings scoring 136 runs loosing 4 wickets in 25 over. Chasing the total Udayan CA (Alipurduar) managed only 115 runs in 24.3 overs losing all the wickets and the match. Ritesh Roy from Baghajatin CCC was declared Man of the Match for his 65 runs in 66 balls.
