CHILD INJURED IN STONE PELTING AT SHATABDI EXPRESS
TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 29th January, 2016: Window seats of Shatabdi Express seats are not safe anymore. On 23rd January in an incident of sudden stone pelting at Shatabdi Express before Malda Station, an infant was severely injured leaving the co-passengers terribly shocked. The incident has been reported to the rail authorities and they spent no time to come forward and make necessary damage control measures to close the hole in the window. Mr. Sajal Bose from Jalpaiguri and a frequent traveler to Kolkata told the press that “This is not the first time such an incident have occurred. This is the 3rd incident I have witnessed in Shatabdi Express in the last 1 year”. However, such incidents are alarming in a scenario when a huge amount of money is collected in the name of passenger security through the tickets, which is witnessing a skyrocketing price for the last few years.
