Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 27th January, 2016: The whole day in Siliguri saw a gruesome time for most of the pedestrians, cyclists, motorists etc. in Siliguri. Some of the office goers could not even reach their offices in time and had to take a sudden leave. Reason …. protest by the guardians and students for the delay of cycles delivery through the CM’s “Sabuj Sathi” scheme. However, what for the cycles when the students have mobile phones with net packs? Was that the motive behind the scheme? Absolutely not. This was reflected when you take a sudden visit in the local cycle repairing shops. Many shops displayed cycles with “Sabuj Sathi” logo for sale for Rs. 2000 – 3000. On inquiry, the shop owners said they will earn a commission of Rs. 1000/- per cycle sale. More vivid pictures came out in OLX.in website. The students/guardians spent no time in uploading the cycles of the scheme in the online advertisement for sale with the names and phone numbers openly displayed.
