FAMOUS WRITER “CHOMONG LAMA” IS NO MORE

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 25th January, 2016: Famous veteran writer of North Bengal Mr. Bijay Ghosh or better known as Chomong Lama breadth his last yesterday in a private nursing home in Siliguri. He was 91 years of age. Interestingly, a few days ago he was being awarded as a ‘Banga Ratna’ award in the Uttar Banga Utsav by the state Government. During his life-time, he had earned huge accolades as a Bengali writer from North Bengal, which is very rare in this part of the state. An East Bengalian by birth, he was an ex Tea Garden employee and was passionate about writing in Bengali Literature. Many Novels, Stories of Chomong Lama had gained maximum popularity which made him a household name in North Bengal. Many political and non-political personalities have expressed their respect to his departed soul after they learned his sad demise.
