JALPAIGURI HOUSEWIVES UNITE FOR RELIEF DISTRIBUTION IN DOOARS TEA GARDENS

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 17th January, 2016: The Jalpaiguri Housewives today came out of their homes and went straight to stand beside the tea workers of the closed tea gardens of Dooars. This has been done under a purely nonpolitical organization called “Mohila Kau Jon” originated from Rajbaripara of Jalpaiguri. To the surprise of the people of the locality, the women accumulated items like 250 blankets, edible oil, salt, turmeric, sugar, pulses, soyabean etc. The items were packed in a full Panjab trucks for transportation. Kalpana Roy told TNI that they had done their ground work for this purpose and done a pilot survey of this program. She also informed that all the items were procured by collecting subscription from the locality households of Jalpaiguri. It a great step on behalf of the women from Jalpaiguri especially the homemakers, who were indicated as couch potatoes addicted to the Bong Teleserials in the society.
