SILIGURI SECURITY BEEFED UP AFTER PATHANKOT ATTACKS

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 02nd January, 2016: After information reached Siliguri’s security administration about the militant attack in Punjab’s Pathankot Air Base, the security checking has increased out of the block. The whole day Siligurians saw sudden checking in the vehicles mostly public ones irrespective of State-run or private. Siliguri is always a sensitive place in terms of security cover is concerned according to the security forces. Recently, many agents belonging to the NE terrorist outfits and even ISI has been nabbed from the city. However, the worst state of affairs continued in NJP railway station and Siliguri Junction. The metal detectors and luggage checking kiosk stand functionless for the last few months. When asked about the sudden rise in security checks, the Police Administration averted the issue calling it as a “Routine Checks”. However, the security checks in Bagdogra were immediately up in the morning when the news reached about the militant attack.
