PICNICKERS TO BE KEPT UNDER VIGIL ON ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION AT DOOARS

Webdesk, TNI Nagrakata, 15th November, 2015: Picnic season is knocking the doors after the puja season. However, picnic stands for a break from routine activities but it brings havoc as far as ecological balance is concerned. The garbage scattered by the picnickers create serious environmental problems in the area. The local Forest Security Committee (FSC) along with Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) cleaned the Dhumpara-Khairkata forest under Nathua Range of Nagrakata block. The local villagers took part in the program. In the is the program there was the presence of President of Nagrakata Panchayat Samity Mr.Hemanta Roy, Social worker Mr. Ganesh Chettri, Nathua Beat Officer Mr. Sankar Saha, Forest Officer Mr. Buddhiman Munda etc. Mr. Saha said to TNI that the local were informed to watch the proceedings of the picnic parties whether they indulge in environment destructive activities like Loud Speaker usage, garbage littering etc. and later informing them to the Forest Department.
