By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri) ~ Edited By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 12th November, 2015: It’s the time for Siliguri ….. but we are not talking about disco but dead fish. Yes, you saw it right. The icon of Siliguri, Suryasen Park water place was surrounded with dead fished. After Jalpaiguri’s Karala River this is one of the most unprecedented happenings seen by the environmentalists and the common people of Siliguri. A reliable source estimated that the cost of the fishes were more than Rs. 1 lakh. Initial investigations says that its probably due to water poisoning. In such a situation there are questions raised that there are private security deputed 24 hours around the park they how any external elements can poison the water body. Further, there were no officials of the Municipal Corporation seen immediately after the incident was noticed and reported to the Office. However, the Deputy Mayor Mr. Rambhajan Mahato rejected all the allegations and assured that necessary actions are being taken immediately after getting the news. Further the mayor in council said that the matter has been reported to the police.
