By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri) ~ Edited By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 5th October, 2015: Yet it is another event of Association of Conservation of Tourism (ACT) and City Centre, Siliguri and yet it’s another success in its feathers. One by one the events of ACT are creating a high expectation among the masses of this part of the country and that too by a movement called tourism. This time its World Tourism Festival 2015. Although the WTD went past on 27th September yet the 3rd and 4th October was the date chosen by the organizers to honor the request of the partners from the hills especially Kalimpong, Kurseong, Darjeeling etc because they wanted to celebrate both their local and the major event of the tourism day.
The entire event was an amalgamation of various sub-events like International Ethnic Fashion Show portraying cultures of Indian, Nepal and Bhutan, a unique photographic competition for the journalists, Sit and Draw competition for the kids, Bollywood dance workshop, Organic Hut exhibition, Digital Poster Making exhibition, Regional Tourism Awards etc. Sikkim Express was one of the major contributors especially in the awards category like Regional Tourism Awards. Apart from these brands like Techno India, Sparsh, Rachna, etc were among a few who had helped the organizers to organize such a mega event. Overall a great initiative and a major success have surely pumped up the organizers to do it in a grander manner in the days to come. The mentor like the eminent tourism personality Mr. Raj Basu is in all praise of the coordinators like especially Mr. Prasant Acharya, Mr. Sanjit Nandi and others to make it a big success at the end.
