HEMTABAD RESIDENT DIES IN HOLY MECCA STAMPEDE

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 26th September, 2015: A resident of Hemtabad block’ Aghapur Village under Uttar Dinajpur district Abdul Aziz (61) died in the stampede happened at the holy Mecca yesterday. This has been informed by the family of Abdul Aziz. It is already reported that at least 717 pilgrims have died due to a sudden stampede at the Holy Mecca. Mr. Zahirul Islam, son of Abdul Aziz said that his father went to Kolkata on 25th August along with Abdul Rahim and Nurjahan Khatoon of the nearby village with the intention of going for Haj. They boarded the flight for Mecca on 28th August. Yesterday Abdul Majid (Co-traveler of Abdul Aziz) telephoned at their house to inform that Munshi Abdul Aziz had died in a stampede at Mecca. After hearing the news a gloom prevailed in the area of Aghapur. The neighbors of Munshi Abdul Aziz told TNI that Aziz was basically a farmer but also practiced teaching the Urdu language. He is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son. However, the district administration hasn’t informed the family about the death of Munshi Abdul Aziz. The BDO of Hemtabad block Mr. Sanjay Khatal told that he knew the incident is the block administration is trying to establish contact with the grieved family.
