50 YEARS OF INDIAN WIN IN INDO-PAK WAR 1965 CELEBRATED BY TRISHAKTI CORPS

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 22nd September, 2015: As part of Golden Jubilee celebrations of India’s proud victory in the 1965 Indo – Pak War, a documentary of the war was screened for the 1965 war veterans and all the ranks of Trishakti Corps. The war veterans were felicitated by Lt Gen Surinder Singh, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps. The GOC and other uniformed personnel interacted with these veterans to know about the first-hand experience of the 1965 action in the frontiers. A host of events to commemorate the occasion in the region has also been organized at Binnaguri, Kalimpong, Darjeeling Sevok Road and Bagrakote. The documentary of 1965 Indo – Pak War was screened at all the stations. In addition to documentary, presentation and photo exhibition on 1965 war, band display and musical evening were also organized at these military stations. These functions were attended by veterans, serving soldiers and school children. During the functions at various locations, 92 war veterans of 1965 Indo- Pak war were felicitated.
