CM’S CONVOY SECURITY: TRUCKS KEPT STRANDED FOR HOURS IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 17th September, 2015: Thousands of trucks were kept stranded by the police officials today at the Highway towards NBMCH from Medical More, Shivmandir. Police sources informed that this is a precautionary and security measure done due to the departure of the Chief Minister from Bagdogra to Kolkata. The chief minister had arrived in North Bengal for her visit to the Hills to lay the foundation stone of Presidency University (Hill Campus) and other programs. Today was the date when the CM left for Kolkata from Bagdogra. The Police didn’t want to take chance following some recent developments in and around Siliguri city. All the trucks were kept aside the Siliguri-Bagdogra route for avoiding trespassing into the CM’s convoy. The stranded condition started from 11 am and continued till 2 pm when the CM’s convoy passed through the route. Thousands of trucks were seen stranded on the road.
