DURGA PUJA PANDALS OF SILIGURI TO HAVE CCTV CAMERAS’S THIS YEAR

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 15th September, 2015: In the annual pre-Durga puja meeting with the puja organizers the Siliguri Police administration announced that police is keeping a strict vigil over the drinking bars operating in city. The meeting was attended by the Police Commissioner of SMP Mr. Manoj Verma, SDO Mr. Rajenveer Singh Kapoor and other officials from Siliguri Fire Brigade and WBSEDCL. All the OFF and ON shops of Siliguri will be under strict vigil because most the criminal and antisocial activities starts from the areas where these shops are located. Moreover, special flex notices will be mounted in the big Puja Pandals which will display emergency service phone numbers. A special helpline will also be opened exclusively for this Puja Season. Most importantly all the important pandals will be surrounded by CCTV cameras by the administration. This has been declared by the Police commissioner. Like the previous year this year too the permission will be granted to the puja committees through the one window system. The application can be collected from the Commissionerate Office in Mallaguri from 25 September 2015, which has to be submitted in the same office. However, on 5th, 6th and 8th of October 2015 the permissions will be granted through the open window system to be located at Baghajatin Park.
