UNHYGIENIC SITUATION PREVAILING IN RAIGANJ HOSPITAL MORGUE AREA
By Partha Chatterjee (TNI Raiganj) ~ Edited By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 14th September, 2015: The Raigunj District Hospital Morgue is practically suffering from a total unhygienic condition. This is totally the opposite of the pan-India based ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’. The local residents of the nearby area are fed up with the continuous stench coming out of the morgue. The same thing has been express by the visitors of the morgue, who come in search of their missing dear ones. Moreover, the associates who come with the dead body here for post mortem have to wait for long here. Due to the absence of proper drainage system the polluted water of the hospital accumulates in the morgue area. The viral diseases like dengue, malaria carrier mosquitoes have a safe haven here. The locals are protesting that the hospital administration is not taking due care to solve this problem. The Morgue assistant Mr. Piyush Jamadar informed that working long hours in dirty water is very much unhealthy. We are exposed to many infections in the legs while passing through the dirty water. If this continues then it would be very much difficult to continue work like this. The Assistant Super of the Hospital Dr. Ranjan Das said that “We have received the complaint and we also have forwarded to the superintendent to take action”. Whatever may be the situation, the incidents clearly points out the skeletal picture of the hospital’s health administration system.
