HEARTLINE OF JALPAIGURI, DR. ANUPAM SEN PASSES AWAY

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 7th September, 2015: The legendary father like the personality of Jalpaiguri Dr. Anupam Sen passed away today at around 11:45 pm after a prolonged illness. A General Physician by profession, however, he became the heartline for many Jalpaigurians during his tenure as a doctor. Apart from this professional contribution to the society as a doctor, he was also considered as a social activist based on his voluntary support to many social and environmental movements. Many people especially the poorer once, considers Dr. Sen as a sacred soul for his treatment to the poor patients without fees. He was also the ex-MLA of Jalpaiguri. Despite his affiliation with some political parties, he was still respected by the opposition political parties too due to his generosity and acceptability. Recently he was conferred with the Banga Ratna Award by the Honorable Chief Minister at Siliguri during Uttar Banga Festival 2015. His loss will be a big loss for the city, especially in the Clinical, Social, Intellectual and Political circuits.
